Share
The 34th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion was experienced intensely, featuring 24 fashion shows from established brands and designers, along with new generations who brought color and freshness to Barcelona fashion. The official figures speak for themselves: over the 4 days of shows, 17,500 people attended, and 552 journalists and influencers were accredited. Furthermore, the impact of the fashion shows was amplified by their broadcast on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and streaming services. Visitors and press from countries like Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States occupied prime seats in the front row.

This edition has solidified the organizers' commitment to creativity, sustainability, and innovation, fundamental pillars of the runway. Established designers such as Custo Barcelona, Lola Casademunt by Maite, Simorra, Escorpión, Lebor Gabala, and Guillermina Baeza presented their collections, sharing the spotlight with emerging talents like Alvar Merino, Gau, Fátima Miñana, Inma Linares, Madrid Manso, and Alsedà.

Catalan fashion also clearly demonstrated its commitment to upcycling and the creative reuse of garments, which was evident in the fashion show that closed the week. At 080Reborn, 100% recovered garments from waste sorting centers and second-hand stores were showcased, with the support of the Waste Agency of Catalonia (ARC).

Among the brands with the longest trajectory, Custo's reinvention of his iconic T-shirts, which gained worldwide fame in the 90s, stood out. On the other hand, Dominnico established itself as one of the brands with the most followers among attendees. Among the new talents, Alvar Merino's debut, with his corsets as a star garment, generated great anticipation and filled his fashion show. The avant-garde proposals of Paolo Leduc, Outsiders Division, and Habey Club also stood out.

Swimwear had a significant presence in this edition, with two outstanding proposals: on the one hand, Guillermina Baeza, a prestigious brand created in the seventies and specialized in swimwear and lingerie; and on the other hand, All That She Loves, by Clara Esteve, which combines avant-garde technology with craftsmanship and local production, embracing the Made in Local philosophy.

The diversity of the attending public, including drag queens and different identities, brought life and color to the fashion shows, in response to brands' demands for inclusive representation that attracts followers through social media. For example, Dominnico, Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro's brand, dresses celebrities such as Rosalía, Rita Ora, and Lady Gaga herself. Inma Linares has done the same with styling for Elsa Pataky, Marta Hazas, and Kira Miró.

Likewise, IED – Istituto Europeo di Design – collaborated for the first time with the With Love Halston Foundation on the With Love Halston Fashion Scholarship challenge, with the award ceremony held within the framework of 080 Barcelona Fashion. The winner, Virginia Ceruti, from IED Barcelona, presented a design inspired by Greek mythology, in line with Halston's aesthetic, and with criteria of sustainability and marketability. The winner received a scholarship valued at 10,000 euros.
A jury composed of renowned professionals from the fashion industry and the With Love Halston Foundation chose her design from nine finalist candidacies from five IED campuses (Barcelona, Bilbao, Cagliari, Milan, and the Accademia Aldo Galli in Como). The experts valued the fluidity and timelessness of the winning design.
